eCNCshop has created several working models of mechanisms to bring interest and enthusiasm to the field of engineering. Get hands on experience of these mechanisms and think innovatively to fabricate a new mechanism on your own. It can be used as a teaching-aid for engineering classrooms, labs etc. All mechanisms are motorised & portable ( Can be taken to classrooms for demo etc. or can be wall mounted ). Suggested class-room activity: 1) Students can dis-assemble and re-assemble the mechanisms to understand the mechanisms better. 2) Students can try to re-fabricate a scaled model of the mechanism.

WHY A PHYSICAL MODEL?

One can learn a mechanism by studying its kinematics and dynamics mathematically!

One can understand a mechanism by looking at its animation graphics!

Then what is the use of a physical model?

There is a vast difference between mathematical world and real world. Real world presents challenges like manufacturing tolerances, backlash, ergonomics, aesthetics, coupling load to actuator (motor), type of actuator etc. It is very important for an Engineer to understand these practical problems and understand how to overcome them to be a useful problem solving engineer. Kinematics and Animations are sufficient for a Mathematician. But a physical model is very essential for teaching mechanisms to an ENGINEER.
